Have you ever thought about the fact Matthew and Ellen are Friends, Ellen is friends with Courteney and Ellen could have had parties/events that Matthew and Courteney were both at. It literally just came to me :O

Like Lizzy Caplan (Matthew’s ex, I ASSUME) is Birdie’s godmother, who is Busy Philipps’ daughter - who again works with CC on Cougar Town! They’re connected in may ways, plus, they’ve known each other for 20yrs and worked together for 10, their houses are close to each other, they said that Matthew is ‘always’ at CC’s house.. really, they probably see/text/call each other all the time, we just don’t know that, yknow.
