Do you really think that us matteney fans don’t know that?! We’re crazy (or “psychotic”), but we’re not stupid! I knew ever since I joined the fandom that the chances of them getting together were very slim (Matty wasn’t even acknowledging CC when I joined twitter!!) But y’know what, I don’t care. I very much enjoy shipping matteney (crazy as that may be), I’ve made some very lovely, kind and honestly very good friends by joining this fandom, and I’ve had so much fun joining in with their madness. (I really mean that, I love you guys!)
Also, I really do believe matteney would be perfect together. I have not seen either of them look so comfortable and happy with anyone else. Courteney literally lights up when his name is mentioned, seriously, watch an interview where Matty is concerned: that’s one happy chick. And Matthew, he obviously has a thing for her- have you ever seen or heard him gush (yes: gush) over another woman? No.
I know full well that they probably won’t get together (never say never, though- after all, nearly a year ago, people were saying they’ll “never be in the same room together” and look, multiple reunions). But like I said, I’m not going to stop shipping it. We are not doing anyone any harm at all. We may talk a lot about their sex lives and stuff, but when it comes to what we say to them, we’re kind and respectful (even when we don’t want to be) which is something other fandoms *cough* Sherlock fandom *cough* can’t manage.
Plus, they’re my brotp as well as OTP. Their friendship is so freakin’ adorable, matteney are very close and whilst they may never have a romantic relationship *sob* you can’t deny they have such a good friendship! (Ha!)
And when have any of us said we don’t like either of them?! I think I speak for the entire fandom when I say that our love for them is and will always be strong. I fell in love (mmhm, l-o-v-e) with them too long ago to ever consider disliking them. Like seriously, nothing they could do will change that. (That doesn’t mean some of their choices won’t annoy me.)
So, I will carry on writing and reading fanfiction (mainly smut- let’s be honest), and I will reblog and post and tweet my crazy little thoughts about them for as long as I wish to (forever, probs), and if you don’t like it, well screw you.
