I'm a little bit confused that people on twitter write that Matthew has been sober for 3 years now. I always thought he just checked into rehab in 2011 to stay sober and to focus on his life. I didn't know that he was addicted again in 2011 :( Because then he struggled already three times right? During season 3, at the end of season 7 and then again in 2011?

As far as I’m aware you are quite right. Season 3, season 7/8 and then 2011 he checked himself in BUT apparently it was just a preventive measure. But then again, I read that he has been struggling with the alcohol problem even before Friends started…
