This might be totally wrong and I'm just guessing around but sometimes it's fun to do that. I read your last question here. I can really imagine that she wanted him to be there because weddings are a couple thing, I agree with that other anon. But he said no (maybe because he didn't want to get these wedding questions, who's next ect.)) and maybe they had a little fight before she left. And that's why he follows her now, as a proof of his commitment or as an excuse. And she accepted it.
