Honestly the show is hilarious. The chemistry between the cast is like no other. Matthew and Thomas are always cracking jokes and the same with Yvette. The writing is cool because if a joke doesn’t go over so well with the audience, they will re-write it until they get the reaction they want from the audience.
Thomas Lennon and Matthew Perry have the best comedic timing! They feed and play off of each other so well, it’s like they’ve been working with each other for 20+ years. If one makes a joke, the other will expand on it. Also, Yvette Nicole Brown and Wendell Pierce are HILARIOUS! Yvette likes to watch the audience in between takes (because they always have an MC interacting with us. i.e. dance competitions, special talents..etc).
Last night, their “bloopers” were on point! The director told them to redo a scene and told them to “hop back” to where they were and YNB and WP hopped back to their place (literally) and MP and JL just started dancing and everyone was dying! And on one shot, MP had to redo a line about 7 times before he got it right, but every time he played it off and was laughing.
It takes about 4-5 hours to tape an episode, Last night they started from 5:30 pm and ended about 9:30-9:45 pm. I’m sorry I don’t remember last nights director.
Off scene, you can tell Matthew is a very private person. He does talk and mess around with the rest of the cast, but last night he looked like he was sick. Always had a fan on him, constantly drinking water and blowing his nose, stuff like that. But his girlfriend was not there last night.
