Contrary to the other anon, I really liked Matthew and Tom's lines. You know, you would have to really know the previous incarnations of Oscar, specially the one portrayed by Walter Matthau, in the move, to have a more reliable reference. You would have to get into the character to understand the way MP is portraying him, I suggest you to try and open yourself to watch him without Chandler-lenses. And Tom Lennon is also doing really great as Felix. I'm truly hopeful for this show success.

Hell, I am the first person in line to watch him without thinking of Chandler! He is so much more than that and I hate when people constantly compare his success to that one character and call him “Chandler”. It is just new and umfamiliar; I have to admit I have never seen any Odd Couple shows or movies and I love that they said at the TCAs that we should watch this show as something new. So I’m really not judging, it just sounds foreign to me and needs some getting used to.
