celestialmiracle:

Can we just take a moment to see that even though Monica acknowledged that Chandler has accidently said something that he was not yet ready to say, she never mentioned it again? And then later, when he did openly say that he loves her in front of Pheobe, she took it as if he said it for the first time because this time it was not an accidental confession but his decision to bring their relationship to that point.

I think it just goes to show that Monica was very considerate and careful of his commitment problems. All through their relationship, she never forced a development on him but waited for him to make up his mind, think through and take the step. That’s why we see that continuing the relationship after London, moving in together, engagement, all of those huge steps in their relationship were Chandler’s decisions and his growing commitment to the relationship.

(On a side note, can we just appreciate the fact that neat-freak Monica has actually stuck her head in a smelly chicken just to make Chandler laugh?)

This, all of this!

Chandler initiated some of the biggest steps in their relationship, but that wouldn’t have happened if Monica hadn’t been patient and understanding. They had been friends for years and she knew where to not pressure him or how to ‘make’ him do something without him feeling pressured. (For example, she took them to his father before their wedding, although Chandler couldn’t have been more opposed to that idea, but she went with him and she was by his side the whole time and she knew that in the end that trip would benefit Chandler.)

Of course Chandler knew Monica as well and he was good at calming her down without making it too obvious. I’ve said that before, but I’ll say it again: that’s why I like them, they were equals in their relationship, they worked like a team.

And yes, Monica in the stingy turkey head! If someone says that Monica didn’t love Chandler enough, that’s one of the first examples we should give them! If that wasn’t a sign of love, what was it?
